Artist Cal Lanecreated The Digs, a permanent artwork made of steel sculptural panels installed in at the elevated Knickerbocker Avenue station on the M line. Intricately welded by Lane, each of the 28 windscreen panels merge architectural ornaments found on the surrounding buildings throughout the Bushwick neighborhood, creating an entirely new pattern. (Watch the video of this amazing process here!) Opening this Thursday, Lane will have a solo exhibition at Art Mûr in Quebec, CA. Entitled Cal Lane: Veiled Hoods and Stains the show will run until October 25th, 2014.
